This low carb dinner recipe is exactly that, taking about 10 minutes from start to finish – it takes less time than going through the drive through for fast food and has approximately 5% of the guilt! Plus, it’s kid friendly, even the baby loves it!
At 13 grams of carbs per serving, this is a complete one-skillet dinner meal for those days when you just can’t stand the thought of cooking.
Low Carb Green Beans and Sausage:
- 16-ounce bag of frozen cut green beans
- 4 smoked sausages, cut lengthwise and then chopped (we get Bar S, whatever the equivalent is in your store)
- Salt and pepper to taste (we add none, as long as you eat a bite of sausage with the green beans, it’s plenty flavorful)
Add a glug of butter or olive oil to a 10″ skillet, preheat on medium to medium high. Add frozen green beans right away and chop sausage while the skillet is heating. Add all at once and stir until it is all cooked through. Including cutting, you’re looking at about 10 minutes.
This low carb dish serves about four. The total carb count for the entire meal is 53 carbs, so for four servings, the carb count per serving is 13.25. About half of that is the sausage, at seven grams of carbs per link, so I’m sure you could easily cut that down more by finding a lower carb sausage.
